Web-4-All (w4a)
As many of you are aware, this assistive technology has been developed to help meet the public Internet access needs of Canadians with disabilities and literacy issues.

As part of this initiative, W4A interns have been stationed across the province. They will be on hand to install W4A equipment, provide demonstrations, advertise the technology and assist the public.

If you have submitted an application and were successful, a W4A intern will soon contact you to install the technology at your site. Please note, it's not too late to apply. Applications are still being accepted from organizations wishing to offer this assistive technology to the public. For more information, contact the Independent Living Resource Centre at (709) 722-4031.
Event/Success Story HighlightsBack to Top
Every month we ask our CAP Site representatives to submit any special events or success stories along with their monthly stats. We thought we would share some of these with you each month.

· Lamaline - On December 11th, Santa was available at the CAP site to have pictures taken with kids. We had 18 kids, along with their parents, visit the site that day for photos. It was fun and a great way to promote the site.
· St. Lewis - Our CAP community calendars were a great success! A lot of people bought them and sent them to family members far away.
· Burgeo - The youth intern held two CyberCamps for kids in December that went over really well (proving that CyberCamps can work anytime of the year.)

Don't forget to submit your events and success stories when you submit your online stats next week. It could be your CAP Site featured here next month!
CAP PromotionsBack to Top
Is your CAP Site planning a special event, volunteer recognition night or promotional event? We can help you out! CAP now has t-shirts, baseball hats, visors, water bottles, frisbees, pens, temporary tattoos and many other items that you may use to help promote your site. How do you get these items for your event? It's simple! Just call or email your Program Officer a month before your event and make a request. We'll be more than happy to send a package of promotional material your way. All we ask in return are some pictures and a paragraph or two on your successful event!

Don't forget, we also have our CAP Booth that can be sent out to select events such as a trade show or conference. Give us a call to inquire about availability.
Exterior SignageBack to Top
We have not forgotten about sending out your new CAP exterior aluminum sign to those of you that did not take one at the CAP conference in November. Give us a few weeks and you should receive it. Remember, this new exterior sign is to replace the old CAP sign you now have outside your CAP site.
Fiscal Year EndBack to Top
Just a reminder that fiscal year end is quickly approaching! CAP staff are really busy processing your claims for payment. We would like to ask that you help us out by submitting your Expenditure Reports on time. All reports must be sent to the CAP Office no later than March 26, 2004 to ensure that you receive all funds approved for your CAP site for fiscal year 2003-2004.

If you have any questions concerning the required reports or if you anticipate that you cannot expend the total amount of funds approved, please contact your Program Officer.

We thank you in advance for your continued cooperation in ensuring that our payment process in concluded on time!
